University of Maryland

Geocentric LLC was established in September 2005 with the vision of enabling clients in economic development and destination marketing to self-publish and self-manage high quality interactive content, especially geographic content, in their websites.

Geocentric was launched with initial support from the University of Maryland's Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship.  The company is a 2009 graduate of the Silver Spring Innovation Center, a business incubator operated by the Montgomery County, Maryland Department of Economic Development.

Our first product was a vector-based mapping engine for Adobe Flash called SWFmap.  Today, our geographically aware Content Management System, Citylight®, powers interactive mapping and web marketing for over 30 Business Improvement Districts across the United States.
